We've had a change of venue for this years show in April. As most of you will know and would have seen on the news, Portsmouth along with other costal cities was hit very badly by ferocious storms and flooding over the past couple of months. The Pyramids Centre Portsmouth which hosts our Tattoo Extravaganza every year took a real bad battering being positioned right on the sea front and suffered extensive damage not only to the building structure but also flooded and wiped out all electrics . We were guaranteed by the owners (BH Live) that all would be good and the whole place rewired and cleaned up by the time our convention was to take place. We have just received a lengthy apology from them saying that they cannot let us hold the event because they have found further safety issues with the roof and therefore they have closed the building until such time all repairs are done and they estimate mid August. This was obviously not an option to move the date of the convention with only 2 weeks notice to you all so what we have decided to do is host the event just outside of Portsmouth in Havant.
The new venue for this year is Havant Leisure Centre, Civic Centre Road, Havant, Hampshire, PO9 2AY
Havant Leisure Centre is 2 minutes walk from Havant train station. The number 21, 27, 36, 37, 39 & 63 buses stop outside.
There is parking available at the venue and for those who are staying at our host hotel (the
Queens hotel) or nearby hotels in Portsmouth there will be free transportation
to and from the convention. There will also be transportation for anyone that
may turn up at the pyramids if they fail to see our notices. We are re-advertising the show with flyers being delivered all over the city, in the
evening news, on local radio and daily posts on our Facebook, Instagram &
Twitter pages along with it being posted on our website.
We thank you all for your loyal support and hope to see you there . Once again we offer our sincere apologies to you all but it was out of our hands . The new venue will prove to be just as good seeing as the convention has the same organisers and we guarantee as usual a fun filled and entertaining weekend for you all.
